Los Angeles Dodgeball4Ever's Sunday open gym session, they say, "is very similar to The Passion of the Christ in that it also lasts about three hours, and a guy has a beard."
From 1:30PM to 4:30PM balls fly at the Hollywood Rec Center at 1122 Cole Ave., 90038. Bring $5 to cover costs.
They also request that you wear a unitard if you have one. And Sunday service will be followed by Happy Hour.
If you are interested in playing please email from here.

Toronto Dodgeball Tournaments in November
My league, the Toronto Central Sport and Social Club will be hosting another dodgeball tournament on Saturday November 24. You can get more information here.
They are offering two different tournaments: recreational and intermediate levels. The cost is $225 per team.
I went to the last one a few weeks ago, and I thought it was one of the most fun dodgeball tournaments they've had yet - except for the annual indoor beach tourney. That's the highlight of the year!

The old-school Kunio characters will be back packing a whole new whack of super throws and attacks, wreaking havoc on the playground. You can even have up to eight players at a time.
This new version of the game will let you get rough, throwing punches and kicks at will. Another new feature will be creating your own characters.
Enjoy, gamers!

Dodgeball in India
Apparently there was a three-day dodgeball tournament in India last weekend - the 1st Junior Chandigarh State Dodge Ball Championsihp. Girls and boys from local high schools participated. Cool.
Hosted by "Dodgeball Association", the school's Finance and Sports secretary presented the trophies and "complimented the efforts of the Dodgeball Association to popularize the game among students."
Here is the most intriguing part to me: The president of the association narrated the history of dodgeball "which started about 600 years ago in Africa and from there it went to Europe and USA."
Yet another theory! I love theories of dodgeball history. Anyone care to challenge that one?

Los Angeles Dodgers Of Toronto
After months of messaging on MySpace with captain Chris, I finally had the pleasure of playing the L.A. Dodgers of Toronto a few times now, in my local league and at a tournament yesterday.
They made this awesome video on YouTube that has a great soundtrack and is chock full of fantastic videography and selective dodgeball action which showcases this team's spirit and sincere love for the game. This is a real stand up team of friendly folks and great players.
Enjoy the video and watch for Chris's amazing catch at the end!

Gay/Gay-Friendly Dodgeball
As a supporter of the gay/LGBT community at large, I was pleasantly surprised to see a comment on my recent fall dodgeball league post about an all new gay/gay-friendly dodgeball league in New York City: "Big Apple Dodgeball".
Whether you plan on playing in the inaugural season or not, all are welcome to the launch party this Thursday October 11 at SPLASH on 50 W 17 St. Oh yeah, and it's 2 for 1 drinks. Sweet.
MarraMark, please send us some photos and a report on the event!
